Burton Albion Football Club are a professional football team based in the Midlands. Founded in 1950 they have spent most of their history navigating their way through the various tiers of non league football. In 2009 they were promoted to the football league and they haven't looked back since. Gaining 3 promotions in the last 8 years they now play their football in the Championship, England's second tier. They have a growing reputation of being one of the best ran clubs in the football league.
Visinatus were tasked with creating a bespoke match day coverage package for the clubs social media pages on Twitter and Facebook. Working to deliver higher levels of social engagement on match day's and adding another tier to the potential commercial options that come from sponsored images.
We wanted to create something that would appeal to football fans visually and also provide the relevant information required for each image.
Pre - match graphics
The build up to games is an important duty in a clubs social media, its the best way to let fans know of the clubs upcoming fixtures as well as announcing the team news before kick-off to fans who are on their way to the match or those who aren't able to make it. We came up with a concept that allows Burton to inform their supporters of the upcoming fixtures for the month as well as a team sheet that not only shows the players but also the expected formation for the game.

During the game there are of course many supporters who aren't able to make the match, it was important for Burton Albion to give their fans the best possible text based match day coverage possible, to give the fans as much detail as possible about the in game events, alongside this we came up with a concept to improve the current set up by including images for goalscorers as well as half time and of course full time updates.
social media package
Alongside the match day coverage graphics we also created a social media package to transform the look of the clubs social media account. replacing the over-sized badge AVI with a clean concept that matched the match day package for complete brand continuity across the clubs social media accounts. We coupled this with a new header to complete the final look.
Social Media can be a powerful advertising tool, especially for football clubs who are more likely to see a lot of social engagement and traffic from not only their clubs supporters but also supporters of other clubs. With this in mind imagery can become a useful selling point for the clubs commercial side, giving them the ability to sell advertising space. This concept uses the clubs main sponsor 'TEMPOBET' as an example of how the clubs imagery can be used by companies to get themselves seen in different ways as well.
